UKCT publishes new research on Imperial College London and the Chinese military

A new report by UKCT sheds light on efforts which would have linked top British data science and AI expertise and resources in to China’s national military marine combat drone research programmes.

The report highlights the roles of Huang Ping 黄萍, whose connections to the United Front Work Department of the CCP UKCT has researched in a separate report, and Professor Guo Yike 郭毅可 in a proposed partnership between the Jiangsu Automation Research Institute, a state-owned company that designs marine combat drones for the People’s Liberation Army Navy, and Imperial.

The full report can be read here. It provides an unprecedentedly detailed case study of the mechanics and individuals behind a proposed collaborative research programme between a British university and the Chinese military.

The report was covered in a news report by The Guardian.
